Appendix 6: Armor Armor is rated based on how well it protects against physical damage. This includes the penalty that it applies to making a successful attack, i.e. causes damage, how many points of damage it decrements from any given successful attack, and the total damage (x10 damage reduction) it can sustain before becoming ineffective. The latter is rolled and applied only if the original attack was successful. So, in our example (in Appendix 3) of using a Colt M1911A1 handgun modified for fully automatic operation and loaded with overpressure ammunition, i.e. Weapon Damage Profile MM/A1/R2, that does 22 points of damage. If this were against an opponent wearing Doron Plate armor then the damage sustained by the target would be reduced to only 6, while the armor itself would take the remaining 16 points, reducing its ability to take subsequent damage to 144.
