We are excited to announce the launch of
the Mountain View Historical Association’s
redesigned website! Our page can be found at:
https://mountainviewhistorical.org
Our goal with this completely redesigned website
is to create a user-friendly browsing experience
for our members and all those interested in
Mountain View’s history. The website is a work-
in-progress, so keep checking back for updates.
Our hope is that the website will increase our
ability to share Mountain View history, spread the
word about our activities, and make it easier to
join and renew membership. We welcome your

The History Center’s collection of local newspapers
has been digitized by the library, and it’s available
to browse and search on the Mountain View
Public Library’s computers through Digital ReeL, a
product of BMI Imaging Systems in Sunnyvale.
The actual newspapers and the old microfilm reels
will still be kept in storage in the History Center.
The newspapers will appear just as they did in
print, but Digital ReeL lets you search the text of
articles, as well as advertisements, for keywords.
There’s a helpful “snipping” feature where you can
“clip” and save a particular article or photo.
In compliance with copyright law, the newspaper
collection must be viewed within the Library (on
Library computers or on your own device via the
Library’s Wi-Fi network.) Our collection includes
