HEXHAM RACECOURSE
Hexham racecourse rightly gets the first feature in the Around The Tracks column, it's got happy memories for MRC with Outlaw Tom winning there twice and also placing there twice.
The racecourse is situated on the hill above the town at Yarridge Heights and is a superb track for anyone wishing to educate a chaser, the fences have beech wings and on a lovely summers evening there is no finer place to watch racing.
Peter Buchanan, Brian Hughes and Ryan Mania seem to be the jockeys to follow at the track, whilst Lucinda Russell fires out winners there at will of late. The track races all the way through to June and is well worth a visit for anyone on a fine day, but when it's wet, it's very wet though!!
