THE MASTER PAINTER AUSTRALIA 052 Master Painters Group Training Company NEW SOUTH WALES Going for Gold at Regional Competition MPGTC is excited to announce that ten of our first and second year apprentices have battled it out for the honour of being the best painting and decorating apprentice in their region at the recent WorldSkills Regional Competition held at Ultimo TAFE on the 30th July & Granville TAFE on the 31st July 2015. We are pleased to announce that Caroline Stoebner took out the gold medal at the Ultimo TAFE competition, with John Stratigos winning silver, John Nikas winning bronze and Annabel Lo took out silver at Granville. These apprentices will now go on to compete at the National Championships, and may even have the opportunity to compete internationally as a member of the Skillaroos. Our apprentices had their skills tested over a one-day competition that involved completing a practical project under timed conditions. The competition was judged by leading industry and training professionals, who took a number of factors into account before giving a score. MPGTC has been thrilled with the way our apprentices have banded together in preparation for this event. Although they will be competing against each other, they have all been willing to help their fellow competitors wherever they can. This attitude should hold our team in good stead for the upcoming championship. We would also like to recognise our Host Trainers for their professional training and guidance they provide our apprentices, their commitment to training the next generation of painting and decorating professionals is evident by the high level of work that the apprentices have completed. This event is not simply about medals and accolades. Master Painters values this compe ][ۈYH
