the wine life F or the second time The Mark Wine Camp made it to Italy. With such a vast Italian wine portfolio, we couldn’t do it in just one go. This year’s trip started off in Piemonte. On the menu: lots of fresh asparagus, porcini mushrooms and of course, all the wines of Cantina Pertinace. Next we headed to Cinque Terre on the Ligurian Coast for a special Mionetto lunch that included fresh grilled Octopus and prawns. From there we headed to Tenuta di Capezzana in Carmignano. Both wine and olive oil production at Capezzana dates back to 804. We were treated to the 1931 vintage of their proprietary wine which was amazing. The Tuscan adventure continued at Castello di Monsanto where owner Laura Bianchi gave us a personal tour of the caves and hosted us for a brilliant dinner with several older vintages on the menu.
