e Donn Danielson Joins The Mark Wine Group Sales Team G rowing up in Chicago as one of six kids (3 brothers and 2 sisters) is how life began for Donn Danielson, our newest addition to The Mark Wine Group. As VP of Sales, Donn will work side by side with Jeff Scott, our other VP of Sales, sharing account responsibility, with Donn Danielson both positions reporting to Mark Gmur. Donn comes to us with more than 30 years experience in the industry. Donn started his wine career in Chicago at Chicago Wine Merchants, ultimately serving as their General Sales Manager. In 1999, Donn became the Northwest Regional Manager for The Hess Collection Winery and was later promoted to Western Divisional Manager overseeing 26 states. In 2007, Donn was hired by Grgich Hills Estate as National Sales Director, and in 2009 he joined Folio Fine Wine Partners as Western Region Sales Director, before assuming a role as Director of National Accounts, Off Premise and Southwest Region Sales Director during his eight years tenure there. Donn’s most recent position was with European Cellars/ Eric Solomon Selections as Director of National Accounts; On & Off Premise. Look for the Lion The New Marketing Campaign for Hess A 2 long with a package refresh on its Hess Se- lect line of wines, Hess is running its fi rst outreach campaign in Dallas and Boston, to be followed in April in California, Florida, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Colorado and Ohio. A strategic, clever and broad-reaching marketing campaign with Lion-themed taglines such as “Eat, Prey, Love”, “Mane Course”, and “Pickup Lion” will garner 30+million impressions via Out-of-Home advertising, 12+ million impressions via Facebook, Instagram, as well as food focused websites such as Epicur- ious, Bon Appéttit and another 6+million impres- sions through Pandora. This is coupled with advertising in Wine Spectator and Market Watch featuring “The Next Generation of Lions”, proprietors Tim and Sabrina Persson, who took over running the winery following Donald Hess’s retirement in 2011. The winery has seen a lot of upgrades and investment since Persson took on the Chief Executive Offi ce position and added Chief Operating Offi cer, John Grant in 2014. The Lion is making a grand comeback, and it is all tied together with the wineries’ ultra-premium off erings such as “The Lion”, The “Lioness” and “The Lion Tamer”. Look for the
