only shrine that remained intact was that of the Holy Prophet (pbuh).  Is it not strange that the Wahhabis find it offensive to have the tombs, shrines and other places of importance to the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) preserved, while the remains of their Saudi kings are being guarded at the expense of millions of dollars.  I send my condolences to our twelfth Imam, Imam Mahdi (a.s) , Yamani (a.s) and to all ansar Allah on the tragedy of al-baqi, the day that Abdul Aziz Aal Su'ad , one of the kings of Saudia Arabia, agreed and helped the wahabis demolish the holy shrines in Jannat ul Baqi.  The Destruction of Jannatul AlBaqi By: Muhammad Ebrahim Assalaamu-Alaykum Wa Rahmat’Allah Wa Barakatu brothers & sisters in religion and humanity, Peace and Blessings from Our Merciful Lord be upon you now and always, God-willing.    The 8th of Shawaal marks a very sad day in a list of very tragic events that have been carried out against the Family of the Prophet Muhammad (saw), the Ahlul-bayt (as).  This day in history will be remembered as the day in which the final resting places of various family members of the Prophet (saw) were desecrated and destroyed. Janaatul Baqi meaning the “Garden of Heaven”, is a cemetery which is located in the holy city of Medina, Saudi Arabia to the south-east of the Prophet (saw) mosque, Masjidul Nabawi. Asa'ad Bin Zararah, one of Muhammad's (saw) companions died. Muhammad (saw) chose the spot to be a cemetery and Asa'ad was the first individual to be buried in Al-Baqi cemetery among the ansar.   The Prophet's (saw) son Ibrahim, who died in infancy and over whom the Prophet (saw) wept bitterly, was also buried there. The people of Medina then began to use the site for the burial of their own dead, because the Prophet (saw) used to greet those who were buried in al-Baqi by saying,"Peace be upon you, O abode of the faithful! God willing, we should soon join you. O' Allah, forgive the fellows of al-Baqi".   On 8th Shawwal in the year 1345 AH (April 21, 1925) Mausoleums in al-Baqi' were demolished by King Ibn Saud of Saudi Arabia. In the same year, he also demolished the tombs of holy personalities at Jannatul Mualla in Mecca where Muhammad's (saw) mother, wife, grandfather and other ancestors are buried. This happened despite protest by the international Islamic community. Ibn Saud & Co. The destruction of sacred sites in the Hejaz initiated by Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab continues today under the disguise of preventing what some consider to be the practice of grave-worshipping, revering the dead and asking favours of the dead buried there. Many of these mausoleums, domes and structures, originally intended to identify famous companions of
