Enrico Guarnieri was born in 1953 in San Gregorio ( Sicily). He started his career in 1976, in amateur theatrical companies. He came to success with the creation of the character of "Litterio", brought on stage in a famous tv local show. He was also the protagonist of works put on stage by the Theater of Catania.

Some years ago the theatrical agents Carlo Auteri and Mario Fraello gave life to the Associacion ABC, based in the homonymous theater of Catania, for the production of the shows of him, nowpresented in the biggest towns of Italy.

Once, I used to meet this very popular actor. We met in a famous bar of Catania, where, they say, Giovanni Verga (an important Italian writer)

used to go to talk with the other land owners about the price of Sicilian oranges and criticizing the Government (good for nothing).

It is told that even the clamant Filippo Tommaso Marinetti roughly lowered his foot on the brake of his “bolide” to stop and greet the author of the “Malavoglia”, who religiously sipped his daily coffee.

"Greeting for the best writer alive!", shouted the futurist writer.

"Very kind! " Replied Verga. "But you, dear Marinetti, forget that I am a traditionalist writer ..."

"Critics are donkeys! You are the first modern novelist.." Marinetti was right. Verga's language, with his extraordinary mixture of Sicilian syntax and Italian words produced the creation of one of the possible universes. His style is very easy to traslate, although the same old critics don't think so.
