Professor at the University of Pavia and an internationally renowned scientist, poet, writer and painter. His writings are inspired by his scientific studies on the human being considered as a complex system in which the various bacterial communities coexist with our organism in a constant symbiosis.
The research aims at contribute to the understanding of brain properties sustaining higher order cognition, using cutting edge technologies deriving from neuroscience-related fields like genetics, cell biology, anthropology, psychology and informatics. Research lines will contribute both individually, with specific goals related to their experimental designs, and within a paradigm of highly integrated sharing of knowledge, which will allows for online modulation of others units works.
