From the later published memoirs of Margarita Murashko, it is known that on Saturday, June 14, 1919, at the beginning of the second hour of the night, Alexander Murashko and his wife returned from their guests to their home, in one of the quiet side streets of Lukyanovka, Kiev. Suddenly, three patrolmen from the Extraordinary Communist Committee blocked their way. They demanded documents. But Oleksandr Murashko had a special pass. However, the patrol urged him to go for interrogation.

Later, Margarita took the body of her husband with a gunshot neck.

The system did not forgive the genius of his Ukrainian, patriotic views.

On Tuesday, June 22, 1919, under the Academy of Arts in Kiev, a prophetic plot repeated: the red coffin covered with a body of Olexandr Murashko was carried by students and teachers to the Lukyanovka cemetery.

The fate of the Murashko family was tragic, and again much remained a mystery.

Margarita continued to search for her husband's killers, wrote letters, went to the interrogations in the Cheka, urged them to institute criminal proceedings. Over time, her efforts yielded fruit: the investigator was able to call Margarita the name of the murderer of her husband, but strongly advised him to stop being interested in this matter and confessed that he could no longer conduct an investigation, since senior officials were involved in the case.

All paintings that Margarita had were transferred or sold to the Art Museum in Kiev.

A few years later, Margarita Murashko married an architect and moved to Sevastopol. Surname of the first husband did not change.

In 1936, she was arrested.
