Pylony
Towers
Po osazení ocelové mostovky byly za opěrami
smontovány zbývající pylony.
After the steel beam was in place, the
remaining steel towers were pre-assembled
behind the abutments.
Každý pylon byl potom po mostovce přemístěn
pomocí pásového jeřábu do své finální pozice.
Celková tíha takového konvoje dosahovala až
8 MN, zároveň tedy sloužila jako zatěžovací
zkouška.
Each tower was then removed with crawler
cranes over the bridge beams to its final
position. The total weight of such a convoy
came to 8 MN, thus acting as a test loading.
Pylony byly zdviženy do svislé polohy za pomoci
dočasného zavěšeného pylonu. Nakonec byly
spojeny s mostovkou a byly nainstalovány
závěsy.
The towers were lifted from their horizontal
position with the help of a temporary guyed
tower. Finally, they were connected with the
beam, and the stay cables were installed.
Dokončený most
Completed bridge
Most v Millau je významným příkladem
vícepolového zavěšeného mostu. Konstrukce
s úchvatnou elegancí byla vystavěna v úchvatné
krajině, kde ladně překračuje ve velké výšce
údolí.
The Millau Bridge is an important example for a
series of cable-stayed bridges. A structure with
impressive elegance has been built in an
impressive landscape, where it gracefully
crosses the valley at great height.
