We, Too Sing America

A Poem inspired by

I, Too Sing America

Justin Silverio

We, too, sing America.

From the current generations

to the past ones, they

send me to work in such

harsh conditions.

From building houses,

to raising crops

and nursing the sick:

not enough

money

comes through.

Like a dog waiting

to be fed,

or a helping hand

being put down:

we deserve more.
