Conscious Thoughts

Anthony Williams

In between the light, lie shadows.

Sprawled between greatness, you will find mistakes.

We all are trying to be great and not overshadowed,

And hope that we’ll be above water by daybreak.

From time, we learn exhaustion and hungry;

Complications upon complication hinder our progress,

But we must preserve and strive dutifully,

Lest we cry our incompetence with undying distress.

If you get the call to quit, do not answer.

Don't even entertain that voice.

You can be the next president or the curer of cancer,

So next time you doubt, make the right choice.
