Sixteen

Taylor Hunt

I was walking;

Life was simple when I was walking.

Time went by slowly,

And my friends would come and go

When I was walking.

I was running;

People couldn’t keep up when I was running.

We’d wave, say a quick hi and bye,

Because we were running.

Now I’m driving,

And life is flying by because I’m driving.

Friends only get a glance--

No time to laugh or dance--

Because I’m driving.

Look around, small frown.

I’ve made it;

I want to go back.
