The Looking Glass Volume 36 | Page 3

Letter from the Editor

Dear Readers,

For the last 35 years, The Looking Glass has sought to marry the beauty of poetry and art. Fueled by the passion and talent of Teaneck High School, it has grown to represent the diverse voices of our learning community. Three years ago, we introduced our digital platform, and in doing so embraced a unique opportunity to expand our horizons through the introduction of vibrant color-prints and the intimacy of the spoken word. This shift paved the way for new modes of expression including spoken word poetry, flash fiction, and short stories. Building on our tradition, this year’s editors and designers worked diligently to curate a ‘story’ on each page of the magazine by thoughtfully pairing writing and images. Our students have created beautiful works of art, and the harmony of their collaboration is humbling.

Therefore, without further ado, I am delighted to introduce the 36th edition of The Looking Glass, the literary magazine of Teaneck High School. It represents painstaking work on the part of editors, designers, writers, and artists, all of whom sprang right from these very halls of Teaneck High School! As editor-in-chief, I had the honor of reviewing each talented work, and the privilege of watching the magazine grow over the last few years. This volume displays how much expertise lays in the students of Teaneck High School.

Please enjoy reading!
