ABLOY PROMOTES FIRE DOOR COMPLIANCE WITH INFOGRAPHIC

To mark the Fire Door Safety Week this September 2018 , security expert Abloy UK has highlighted alarming statistics in an infographic , showing an increase in the number of fires and fatalities and decrease in fire safety audits .
»»
THE INFOGRAPHIC FEATURES brand new information from the Home Office released earlier this year , including fire and rescue incident statistics , and fire prevention and protection statistics .
Pat Jefferies , Commercial Director at Abloy UK , said : “ Abloy is a big Fire Door Safety Week supporter and we promote the crucial importance of fire doors in saving lives and protecting property – not just during the initiative but all year round .
‘ no margin for error ’
“ Our infographic features some worrying figures , with an increase in the number of fires and associated injuries and fatalities . What ’ s more , the research shows there are fewer fire safety audits being carried out , with nearly a third of those audited deemed unsatisfactory .
“ When it comes to fire door safety there is no margin for error , and noncompliance can lead to the substantial fines , custodial sentences , and most critically the loss of life .”
