LIAM IS THIS MONTH’S LOCKSMITH LOTTERY WINNER Congratulations to the winner of this month’s Locksmith Lottery who is Liam Telford of LT Locksmiths & Security, who wins a SASH STOP full kit – and of course, a bottle of fizz to celebrate! » » BASED IN INGLETON, North Yorkshire, Liam launched the business around three years ago after leaving the military. Always mechanically-minded, he did not want a 9-5 job and says this suits him very well. “There is pressure because it can be 24/7 but I am fine with that – it is not like another trade where you can come back another day – it needs to be sorted there and then.” Liam has based his business on providing a genuine 24/7 personal service to domestic, commercial and automotive customers throughout a large area throughout Cumbria, Lancashire and North Yorkshire covering all the rural areas as well as all the major towns and cities within the region. It means a lot of travelling which can be a challenge in winter, but so far it is working very well. ‘I could not sleep at night if I sold someone inferior stuff that let them down for the sake of a few quid’ “When I came into the business I became part of a really great network of locksmiths who are very supportive and help each other out,” he explained. “That has been a big help to me. I don’t think you find this in other industries. And one thing this job guarantees is real job satisfaction and variety. And I work hard at keeping up with all the many changes. I like the practical aspect and if I have a quiet hour, I spend it doing picking practise!” Liam said he was happy with his prize which he LOCKSMITHJOURNAL.CO.UK | SEP/OCT 2017 Sponsored by Aldridge Security first saw at a trade show. “It is new to the market but is a very good idea so I was really glad to be a winner.” Liam keeps his prices competitive and does not charge a call-out fee for emergency services. He also insists on using high quality branded goods. “I could not sleep at night if I sold someone inferior stuff that let them down for the sake of a few quid,” he says.
