of Architectural Ironmongers

Architectural Ironmongers (IAI)
has hosted a range of successful
student workshops across the
UK and in Hong Kong.
The workshops are designed
to prepare Certificate in
Architectural Hardware
students for their examinations
in September. They are given
practical advice through ‘speed
dating’ style sessions, where
they can ask professionals
from across the industry any
questions.
“It’s great to see so many of
the members offering their
support and expertise,” said
Karen Nelson, Midlands branch
chair. “It was a good opportunity
for the students to meet other
members and get a taste of
the branch meetings. We’ve
had great feedback about the
evening itself and several of the
attendees are now planning to
come to future meetings.”

All students automatically
become members of the
IAI and can attend regional
meetings at any point during
their studies. The most recent
student evening was held by
IAI - Karen Nelson, chair
of the Midlands
the South-East branch. Peter
Haywood, South East chair,
said:
“I think the evening was
a great success. All students
are welcome to attend our
monthly branch meetings.
They’re a great place to meet
and interact with people
from across the industry
and provide the opportunity
to continue with their
professional development
once they have passed their
final exams.”
Earlier in the year, there
were student evenings at the
North and Borders and Hong
Kong branches.
