Stephen Roberts, Marketing Manager for Yale, comments: “We would like to thank everyone who visited our stand at Lockex 2016. As part of the ASSA ABLOY group, we were proud sponsors of the show and it provided a great opportunity to meet with lots of new and existing customers. “We showcased a range of our products, including our smart locks, which give homeowners the freedom to secure their home without the need to carry keys. Neil Vann, UK MD of ASSA ABLOY, officially opened the show and also delivered a keynote speech, where he talked about changes and trends in the market, with particular emphasis on how locksmiths can capitalise on the move from mechanical to smart security products.” Products on display included the Yale PAS 3261 Doormaster™ – the first retrofit multipoint lock LOCKSMITHJOURNAL.CO.UK | SEP/OCT 2016 in the market that allows users to maintain accreditation on existing PAS 24 doors, without needing to fit exactly the same lock as was supplied with the door. PAS 3621 is now specified as the benchmark standard for multipoint locks in The Building Regulations’ Approved Document Q, mirroring the BS 3621 standard for locks fitted to external wooden doors. This gives a distinct advantage to locksmiths, as a suitable replacement can be fitted on an initial visit from a small range of van stock, as opposed to ordering a lock and repeating the visit at a later date to complete the installation. Another innovative security solution showcased at the show was the Yale Platinum 3 Star Cylinder. This product has been designed to provide superior strength against known cylinder attack methods, enabling locksmiths to provide their customers with a robust security offering that doesn’t break the bank and can be easily fitted in a matter of minutes. www.yale.co.uk
