Some of the more common issues, ranging from ‘beep’ mis-interpretation to damage faults, are covered here. TRIPLE BEEP WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ADD USER 1 • The lock system is not a 39e, but a 66e or TL11, where User 1 is the Manager - Refer to 66e or TL11 instructions GENERAL OPERATION • Refer to each lock’s specific user operating instructions for full information: Basic, ComboGard Pro 39e, AuditGard 66e, TL11 and Supra. - A short beep indicates a correct button press - A double beep indicates that the code or function has been accepted - If a mistake is made during a procedure, wait 20 seconds and restart the procedure TRIPLE BEEP WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ADD USER 9 OR 31 • If the lock system has been programmed so that User 9 for 66e and TL11 or User 31 for Supra is able to override time delay, and time delay is active, the code can only be added during the open window - Wait for the time delay to elapse and add the code during the open window before the lock has been opened TRIPLE BEEP AFTER ENTRY OF A CODE • The code may have been entered incorrectly - Attempt to enter the code again • If the code is a user code, it may have been deleted or disabled - The Manager code can be used to install or re-enable - If the Manager code is unknown, attempt opening with another code. The lock may need to be reset and reprogrammed to enable a new Manager code - If no other code is available, it is possible that the lock must be opened forcibly • A recent attempt to change the code may have been entered incorrectly twice, recording a code that was not intended - Test variations of the intended code with changes to the first and last digit, in case the code was entered out of sequence in error • There may be a fault with the keypad possibly due to wear and tear, so that the correct number’s signal is not being sent to the lock - If other codes are available, test them to open the lock - If no other codes are available, test the code(s) using a different keypad. Contact Safelock Systems for the procedure to swap keypads without opening the safe TRIPLE BEEP ON A KEY PRESS, LED FLASH EVERY 10 SECONDS • The lock is in penalty caused by 4 consecutive entries of incorrect codes - Wait 5 minutes for the penalty period to elapse and try a valid code again. Further entry of 2 incorrect codes will reactivate the penalty TRIPLE BEEP DURING ENTRY OF CODE • The code entry is out of sequence, i.e. a triple beep occurs on the 5th digit because a key had been pressed in error - Wait 20 seconds and enter the code again LOCKSMITHJOURNAL.CO.UK | NOV/DEC 2018 Sponsored by ABUS TRIPLE BEEP WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ADD TIME DELAY VALUES • Time delay is already active, and the new values are lower than those already in the lock system - Wait for the time delay to elapse. Attempt the procedure again during the open window, before the lock has been opened. The open window will continue counting after correct entry of the procedure. Open the lock, and on the next opening, the new time delay values will apply TRIPLE BEEP DURING CHANGE CODE PROCEDURE • If the new code differs from the old code by only 1 digit, it will not be accepted by the lock system - Use a different code • If the new code is a duplicate of a code already stored in the lock system, it will not be accepted (Not possible for Supra as each code contains a unique User ID) - Use a different code
