KEEPING UP WITH
COMPLIANCE: ESCAPE DOORS
STANDARDS WHITE PAPER
DANISH FIRE
SAFETY
»»GEARTEAM, BASED IN HILLERØD
and an importer and supplier of
fire emergency products, is the
latest company to become a WES+
distributor.
Ramtech Electronics, manufacturer
of the WES+ system, currently has
distributors in Norway, Sweden,
Finland and Austria.
Fire on Danish construction projects,
as in all countries, is an ever present
danger to personnel, assets and people
living or working nearby. WES+ tackles
this problem because it is designed
specifically for construction sites.
During the day, manual call points,
installed on site in accordance with
the project’s Fire Plan, are interlinked
to create a completely secure mesh
network so that all areas receive the
same audible and visual alert signal.
The site wide alarm can be manually
triggered by personnel from any call
point.
Jesper B. Løvbo, founder of
GearTeam, said: “Fires on construction
sites are a serious concern for all
our customers who operate in this
sector. WES+ provides them with a
technology-based solution for ensuring
their personnel and physical assets
are protected. Based on the excellent
feedback we have had so far from the
marketplace we have already taken
the decision to allocate dedicated
resources to support the WES+
opportunity in Denmark.”
»»ABLOY UK HAS
created a whitepaper that
explains the importance of
complying with standards
and regulations for Escape
Doors and recommends
solutions to ensure
White Paper
Keeping up with compliance:
compliance.
Escape doors standards
All stages of developing
any building need to
conform to the required
standards, from the
architect to the installer,
they all need to take
responsibility for ensuring the correct
compliant elements that are in place.
There is an average of 162 building fires
in Great Britain every day, with more than
9,100 fatalities or casualties from those
fires, which works out at around 25 a day.
So fitting the correct system can mean the
difference between life and
death for the occupants of
a building.
In this whitepaper
Abloy explores why it’s
vital that each party whether an architect,
specifier, facilities manager
or installer - takes
responsibility for ensuring
the correct compliant
standards are met to
guarantee safe egress
for the occupants of the
building in the event of an emergency.
