Peter Romanov, new ABUS

surveillance systems. In recognition of
the total security range now available
and with UK being a key market for the
company, ABUS is pleased to announce
the appointment of Peter Romanov as new
Managing Director of ABUS UK.
Peter joins ABUS with a wealth of
previous experience in the security
market including both mechanical and
electronic security products for both
residential and commercial markets.
Over the past 20 years he has held various
management positions successfully
growing those businesses.
Nick Vanderhoest has stepped down as
ABUS UK MD in anticipation of his own
pending retirement, and to help ensure
that ABUS can be driven on to be the
potential number 1 UK security brand.
Commenting on his appointment Peter
said: “It is a genuine privilege for me to
be able to take up this appointment with
ABUS. During my career, I have long seen
ABUS from the perspective of both a
customer and competitor, and everything

New Appointment to Support
the Locksmith Market

announce the appointment of Matthew
Dumsday to the position of National Trade
Sales Manager. Matthew will lead Insafe’s
Trade Division with its focus on long-term
partnerships with the Locksmith sector.
Matthew joins Insafe with over 25 years’
experience in the security products market.
Matthew joined Yale in the early 1990’s
and once the Company was acquired by
ASSA ABLOY he enjoyed a 12 year career
with the Group in various roles which
included Commercial Manager of Union
Architectural Hardware and Director and
General Manager of Chubb Locks. On
leaving ASSA ABLOY, Matthew had his
first venture into the safe market when
he joined Dutch safe manufacturer and
distributor, Nauta B.V. Here Matthew
successfully worked with locksmiths to
rapidly increase market share of Nauta’s
Salvus and Sistec safe ranges. In his spare
time Matthew enjoys various sports and is
involved in local youth football.
