and also designing the tool for multiple levers ( including side cuts ). This made development extremely challenging , but we finally overcame the difficulties to complete the development of the product .
15 . YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD ?
My favourite dish is stewed bean curd at home . Tofu is made mainly of soybean and water . It contains many essential trace elements . It is rich in high quality protein and is called “ meat of plant ”.
16 . DESCRIBE BRIEFLY HOW YOU DESIGN AND MAKE A MR LI PICK AND DECODERS ?
In the first stage of product development we design the tool according to the specific internal lock structure , determining the tool manufacturing process . The specifications are based on the actual database of lock designs to determine the technical parameters . We also use product design drawings , and the product manufacturing process documents issued .
The process of manufacturing tools from raw material involves spare parts processing , product assembly , welding , polishing and other finishing touches involving more than 200 procedures . Through these processes can we ensure that Mr Li Tools are of high quality .
The company has optimal product testing processes and testing standards . The implementation of total quality management and the products of each procedure have strict quality requirements . Semi-finished products go through special gauge inspection before being distributed .
17 . HOW CAN CUSTOMERS GUARANTEE THEY ARE BUYING GENUINE MR LI TOOLS IN THE UK ?
Global sales of Mr Li tools only go through authorised agents . Our company insists that only qualified agents have the right to distribute our tools in the assigned area . As long as Britain based locksmiths purchase tools from UK designated agents , this will ensure they are purchasing genuine Mr Li Tools .
( NW Keys - Look for the Mr Li logo on the front and written on the back “ This tool is designed and manufactured by Mr Li ”. Also anti-glare tools are made exclusively to a higher specification for the UK market )
18 . DO YOU INVENT OTHER TOOLS THAT ARE NOT NECESSARILY RELATED TO THE AUTO LOCKSMITHS ?
I have developed a new type of key cutting machine , which can produce the correct key with or without the original key or in the case of deformation . I have applied for a new type of practical invention patent .
19 . WHAT CAR DO YOU DRIVE ? / DO YOU DRIVE ?
I am an advocate of environmental protection , so usually go by bike or electric vehicle as a means of transportation , as well as for fitness .
20 . IS THERE ANY HOPE FOR THE HEAVY HANDED LOCKSMITH ? HOW DO YOU GET A FEEL FOR THE CORRECT TENSION TO USE ?
Of course ! I myself am heavy handed by nature , which is why the design of the tool is simple to use ! While each lock requires different amounts of tension , a general guide would be to apply the same , if not more tension as you would when unlocking the car .
21 . WHAT PROCESS DO YOU USE TO OBTAIN THE ANTI-GLARE FINISH ?
To obtain the anti-glare finish we use blasting tools in the production process , with compressed air as the driving force . Utilizing sand abrasion alongside highspeed airflow in the form of a spray gun , this conditioning alters the surface of the tool , leaving us with the anti-glare finish !
22 . HAVE THE SIDE BAR VAG ( HU162 ) LOCKS CAUSED A CHALLENGE ? YOU SEEMED TO SOLVE THEM VERY QUICKLY !
Thanks to my long experience , and my proficiency I was able to quickly overcome the bottlenecks encountered in product development . I am proficient in civil engineering , master lock technology , proficient in mechanical processing , design technology and above all , possessing a strong sense of design of broad , strong sense of innovation , and the courage to go beyond self .
Definitely ! The side bar VAG ( HU162 ) locks created a big dilemma as the interior structure of the lock is much more complex . In these locks , the upper and lower wafers are intercrossed so that it is extremely difficult to design a tool for this lock . Thanks to my expertise in the area I was able to quickly overcome the bottlenecks encountered during the development phase . Without my experience in civil engineering , lock and design technology and mechanical processing , I would have been unable to solve it as fast as I did !
Thank you very much for a fascinating journey . We wish you further successes in the future .
Come and meet Mr Li on NW Keys stand G11 / G12 / G13 at the MLA trade show ( Oct 6th to 8th ). Mr Li will also be running training classes at the ALA garage .
