Locksmiths can attend two of these meetings for free to get an insight in what the Institute must offer. Meetings are held regularly across English regions with branches in the South East, South West, South Central, North Central, Midlands and North & Borders, as well as in Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The overseas branches in Hong Kong and the GCC are particularly popular with ironmongery professionals in those areas. Each meeting includes a CPD seminar delivered by a technical expert, covering a range of topics from access control and pocket door systems to fire door regulation and social media. Branches also organise presentations from companies on the other side of the industry, Douglas Masterson Peter Haywood Google AdWords Management From £175 per month Local SEO £90 per keyword per month EXCELLENT 4.96 Average Customer Rating Click Fraud Protection FREE 14 Day Trial Web Site Design From £795 such as test facilities, building control and door manufacturers, to help ironmongers have a well-rounded knowledge of the whole industry, not just their sector. As Peter Haywood, chair of the South-East branch says: “We aim to have at least six CPD sessions per year and one social event, usually a quiz around the Christmas period. Over the years, the need for CPD points has become a driving force for meetings; however, we are keen that a number should have a return to basics feel to help students. There is a generous social element to all our branch meetings. Typical attendance is around the 25-30 mark and the atmosphere tends to be good natured and jovial. New members are always welcome.” Hong Kong became the IAI’s first international branch in 2012 and has quickly grown in both committee members and attendees. The Guild of Architectural Ironmongers’ education programme has been very popular in Asia and the Middle East, with many students in these regions regularly attending meetings and successfully attaining the GAI Diploma. As well as students, the IAI meetings also attract experienced architectural ironmongers and Registered Architectural Ironmongers committed to gaining their CPD points. http://www.gai.org.uk/iai/ branch-meetings GOOGLE ADWORDS MANAGEMENT A Google Partner specialising in desktop & mobile search with extensive locksmith knowledge.
