We want to make sure that they have all the information and product knowledge they need to respond professionally and with confidence. In order to do this, we need to understand the issues they come across. It’s a two-way relationship and one which we value and want to build on.” ONGOING SUPPORT = PEACE OF MIND FOR ALL The relationship with installers and customers doesn’t end once an ERA smartware product is installed. ERA has a team of dedicated in-house experts offering a wealth of practical experience or help and advice to customers once they have an ERA product – and that includes locksmiths too, not just the end user. ERA launched a dedicated smartware helpdesk team in July 2018; giving installers a clear point of contact to refer their customers to for aftercare if they have any questions post- fitting - including live-chat web-support. eye on the ERA website for more details: www.erahomesecurity.com or www. eraeverywhere.com. BECOME AN ERA INSTALLER As the demand for smartware products increases, so does the number of requests for details of accredited installers with expert knowledge and experience in this area. In response to this, ERA is replacing the ERA Partner Scheme with a new and improved ‘ERA Installer Scheme’. Locksmiths will be able to sign up to the scheme and specify if they want to be recognised as traditional or smartware product installer, or indeed both. In return they will have the support of ERA, a professional and well-respected brand, which will add value to their business. ERA will link installers with customers and homeowners and provide joint branded clothing and van decals as well as other marketing support to further enhance their services. Going forward, discounts and special offers as well as product testing will be available to installers too, and of course access to ERA’s free smartware training sessions regardless of whether they sign up to the scheme or not. The launch of the new ERA Installer Scheme is imminent – keep an WHO NEEDS SMARTWARE? Everyone can benefit from the previously unattainable reassurance and convenience that smartware products provide. However, it’s not just security. Locksmiths deal with a lot of elderly people or those will disabilities and HomeGuard can work here too. Tania explained, “For those with older relatives, who may be vulnerable, there are SOS accessories available that will trigger a smartphone in an emergency alerting friends or family that help is needed. For even more reassurance, IP cameras can be added to the system. This would allow a user to log on in the event of an alert and visibly check what the situation was, allowing action (or a big sigh of relief!) to be taken. “Door sensors can be added to a system alerting customers if a door is opened, which would be useful when small children are around or if caring for someone with dementia. In addition, our brand new wifi video door bell, DoorCam can be set so that your customer is alerted when someone comes to the door, rather than an elderly relative, giving added protection and peace of mind.” LOCKSMITHJOURNAL.CO.UK | JAN/FEB 2019 SMART PRODUCTS THAT DELIVER ERA’s smartware includes the HomeGuard Pro alarm, a high specification cloud-based alert and monitoring alarm system, the first of its kind to combine security with smart living; operated by a smart phone app, and offering real time alerts, the ability to protect multiple locations; anytime, anywhere.
