A booming business! The path of peace! I left my job to begin a new business opportunity, and halfway during the opportunity everything collapsed, which left me with bills to pay and my family to care for. During a Monday service at the UCKG, I realised that the way to turn things around was to make a bold decision. When you look at me today you would have never imagined that I was extremely afraid of the dark! I panicked as soon as evening approached because of the fear-like paralysis I experienced before I fell asleep. When I was introduced to the UCKG HelpCentre I was told about the Friday sessions. I decided to take part and every meeting was one step closer to the way that eventually sparked change in my life. Today, I sleep peacefully without fear. Ever since then, doors started opening up for me, and I received clients for my childcare business, which I had previously put to the side. The action I took enabled me to develop my idea, and now I get extra clients, without advertising, every week. When I tried screaming, no sound would come out. I could not sleep at night and life became a pit of unhappiness. After attending the UCKG HelpCentre I noticed a huge improvement. Now, I can sleep at night and I am living a happy life. At the UCKG HelpCentre I found the way out of my unhappy life. Cherry-Ann Subit I decided to leave my job when they insisted that I work on Sundays. As a result, I was out of work for nearly seven months. I had no choice but to depend on my mother and to ask friends for money. It seemed impossible to find work but, on practicing what I learnt at the UCKG HelpCentre, I eventually found the way. I applied for a position with a company who offered facilities management at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch in St Paul’s, and got the job! One week later, I was working at prestigious locations around London. Ali Kanu The leap of faith I was looking for a job but couldn’t find one; I would get rejected from even the simplest jobs. I didn’t know what to do; I was receiving Job Seekers Allowance and I had to leave the place I was living in to go and live at someone else’s house, where I slept on the sofa. At the UCKG HelpCentre I learnt a way to get out of my unemployment. On taking the advice I received I was able to achieve exactly what I set out to achieve, and I was successful in gaining employment. Khatija Karim
