it’s your turn to rise No one wants to be at the bottom. We work tirelessly to be at the top; to be the best versions of ourselves; to live a life of abundance where we lack nothing; to love and be loved. That is the dream – for each person, it may vary here and there, but, deep down, we all want to rise to greatness. So, we try, we push, we plant, we reach, we work, we study, we give in, we conform, and still it seems that we never quite make it. We try with all our might to rid ourselves of the gruelling problems that weigh us down, and even when we get some things right – a loving relationship, a successful career, a great achievement – there always seems to be something lacking. Our natural instinct is probably to turn to something or someone that is bigger and stronger, that we feel could pull us up. A substance, a relationship, a deal, the crowd that will give you a momentary lift; however, don’t you often find that they are the very same things that push you back down, usually further than you had been before? But this needn’t be the case. There is One who can lift you up in such a way that you will rise. He will empower you so strongly that you will confidently be able to face and conquer all of the things that previously tore you down. He lifted our sorrows; He sacrificed His life so that we could rise above our troubles. The testimonies in this newspaper are testament to this. This is what Good Friday is all about; this is what the Lifted event is all about. To change and be lifted. It’s up to you to decide if you rise or become ‘one more’ person that falls and stays there. Think of it this way: if you were to fall in the middle of the road, you’d get up and walk, right? Now, why does the same principle not apply to your life? Your situation today doesn’t have to define your tomorrow. You can be lifted! Good Friday, 30 March, 3pm at your local UCKG HelpCentre.
