At the click of a button, we can see, speak to and write to anyone anywhere. So how can it be that, we can connect to people who are miles away but at the same time, we can feel so disconnected from those sitting right beside us? Does this look familiar to you? T his Christmas, social media feeds will undoubtedly be inundated with picture-perfect snaps of families eating around a beautifully decorated table, funny video clips and people begging for your likes and shares. But behind the scenes, is family life really what is portrayed? The truth of the matter is that through the years Christmas has lost its true meaning. The true spirit of Christmas is one of joy, unity, family, love and peace. Gifts, for example, are important, in the sense that they show someone you care; however, they shouldn’t take centre-stage. The main moral of any Christmas- themed film is that family and friendship are the most important things in life, more important than material goods, money or social status. So, Christmas is a great opportunity to spend some time with your nearest and dearest; Don’t let your family unity fade away The Local News (Newspaper) is produced by the UCKG HelpCentre.
