1 4 Remote Care For Mother And Baby Pregnancy can be a dangerous time for millions of women worldwide: pre-eclampsia alone claims the lives of more than 70,000 women and over 500,000 infants every year. Researchers led by Prof Louise Kenny, co-director of the world renowned Science Foundation Ireland funded Centre for Fetal and Neonatal Translational Research (INFANT) are working to develop screening tests to predict and prevent pre-eclampsia, a major complication of late pregnancy.
