HEALTHY COMMUNICATION
 Great relationships start with great communication. In order to facilitate this type of communication, there are some strict guidelines that we adhere to and ask that you do as well. GUIDELINES FOR TEACHER CONTACT: • Follow protocol. Start with the individual most closely involved. Usually this will mean your Scholar’s teacher(s). 
 • Set up a specific appointment time with a teacher (by email). Do NOT try to “catch” a teacher for just a moment to discuss any issues or concerns as this does not foster strong, focused communication. 
 • When necessary, schedule follow-up appointments with the teacher if resolutions are not completed. If further insight is desired, set up appointments to include administration. You can contact the front office either by email ([email protected]) or by phone [phone]). 
 CONCISE COMMUNICATION 
 Time is valuable and we want to use it wisely. Our teachers give full attention to your Scholar(s) during school hours. We want them to be focused on teaching so your scholars can be focused on learning. They will not be available to answer emails during this time. Because of this, please keep communication concise. Try to keep emails to teachers at no more than one per day if at all possible. If there is an issue that would benefit from a discussion, rather than a long email, please follow the protocol mentioned above for setting up a conference. In case of emergency contact the Front Desk. 
 EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION • James 5:16b (NLT) states, “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” It is a great benefit to everyone involved if we enter into all communication prayerfully. • To have the most effective communication, it is best to remain calm and respectful. As we teach our scholars, please seek to understand before you seek to be understood. We know you are passionate about your Scholar(s), as are we. We want to funnel that passion into results that produce growth for our Scholars, as well as for Staff and Families. • Keep in mind that effective communication does not always mean bringing about exactly what you want. Effective communication is where both parties are heard AND listened to, and actions are taken to ensure positive growth and consistent maturity.
