Summary
My work discusses the limit of madness in a symbolic and conceptual way. Over the
years the concept of madness, has had a significant influence over Art. Mental health
is encircled by insanity that has to do with both psychological and sociopolitical
factors. The mind as a cerebral activity is for me a field of inquiry. Thus, I am
reconstructing a condition of a plexus, where neuronic synapses are constituted.
The line as a boundary when it is multiplied, it ceases to separate two points and
therefore they become linked, they turn into a unified entity, a gestalt, a
homogenized surface. An unstable condition is structured in complexes and each
part constitutes a unified entity of an organism that in turn composes an even bigger
one. Foucault once wrote that rationality tried to impose the ideal of Order and
mental clarity that wasn’t perceived only as science, but also as bureaucracy,
coercion and state violence, as concentration camps. Our brain, thoughts and actions
tend to impose barriers to the only organ that its function is limitless.
The
