Morphoplastic references
A key element in my work is the structures that constitute the neural plexus.
Because, life imitates art, the basic structure of nature couldn’t be omitted from Art.
A plexus is a field, a set of shapes, forms, color gradients, movement, pattern. It is a
cluster of signs and lines where all communicate. Every limit is a beginning but also
an end as George Eliot states.
An example might be found in the work of Mondrian, the famous Dutch painter, who
is one of the most important representatives of modern art and co-founder of
Neoplasticism (De Stijl) along with Theo van Doesburg. His work is identified with the
general style of neoplasticism and represents abstract geometric compositions,
dominated by thin, black, horizontal or vertical lines forming a kind of grid that is
interrupted by the presence of colored geometric shapes usually rectangular or
square surfaces. An important element of the particular style of Mondrian is the
minimalism and simplicity of the new compositions. He wanted infinity and the
shape to be limited. A straight line is infinitely expandable, like the open space
between two parallel lines, so with the use of strict forms the work extends beyond
its borders.
