Shoot the Moon: History of the Space Race

MSU's John French

discusses the history

of the race to the

moon between the USA and USSR, beginning with the first liquid fueled rockets invented by Robert Goddard to the first "artificial moon," Sputnik 1, to the first footsteps on the lunar surface by the crew of Apollo 11.

John French is the editor of Abrams Planetarium Sky Calendar and production coordinator at the Abrams Planetarium on the campus of MSU.
