Girl Scout Service Unit 81 Serving Lebanon Borough & Clinton Township
Girl Scout Service Unit 81 serving Clinton Township and Lebanon Borough will be holding cookie
booths at local businesses throughout the month of April. Thank you for supporting our girls during
this sale. We would also like to thank the Lebanon Borough Fire Department for assisting us in our
annual Court of Awards Ceremony in June. This event is held to recognize and celebrate girls, who
have earned a Girl Scout Bronze, Silver or Gold award for service. It will also include a bridging
ceremony for any troop, who is advancing to a new level. Information about all of our events, which are open to
the public, can be found at https://su81website.wixsite.com/girlscouts. To learn more about becoming a Girl Scout
or what is involved with being a leader, please email [email protected].

Troop 200 - Adventure is Waiting!
The past few months have gone by quickly, and the Scouts from BSA Troop 200 have taken advantage of that
time to learn new skills, volunteer in the community and do some really cool things. A few of the highlights
include:
Hosting three WWII veterans and listened as they shared their personal stories with us. Archie Fagan
(Battle of the Bulge, liberated Dachau and observed the 1946 Nuremberg trials); John (Pearl Harbor
survivor); and Richard Ehlert (Invasion of Normandy, Pacific Theater) captivated the audience with their
experiences. If you would like to learn more about these local heroes, read the blog on the Troop's web
site.
Two Appalachian Trail hikes, one which included a 6+ mile hike (with an elevation of 1200-feet) to
Pulpit Rock and Pinnacle Peak, the other was a 5 mile hike in the ice and snow.
Participating in the Klondike Derby which was held at the Teetertown Preserve.
Volunteering at the Knights of Columbus' Pancake Breakfast, collecting food at WalMart for the Open
Cupboard food pantry and participating in Scout Sunday at Immaculate Conception Church.
A weekend camping trip where the boys hiked through Jockey Hollow and Washington's
headquarters.
The Troop held its winter court of honor in February, the troop's 190th court of honor since their first
investiture and court of honor were held on February 2, 1956.
Eleven Scouts received merit badges, including: Citizenship of the World, Horsemanship, Communications,
Personal Fitness, Camping, Entrepreneurship and Emergency Preparedness. In addition, Rusty Gauthier and
John Strober (Scout); Ian Bozzi and Bo Pardo (Tenderfoot); Owen Maslanka (Second Class); George Gregory
(First Class); Justin Verlin (Star) and Zachary Majorossy (Eagle) were recognized for moving up in rank since
the troop's last court of honor held in October. Zach is the Troop's ninetieth Eagle Scout, following in his
brother Matthew's (Eagle Scout #67) footsteps.
