Lebanon Borough’s Homegrown Hero
Many of us know Joe
Hauck as The Borough of
Lebanon’s Zoning Officer for the past 40
years, but throughout the years, he has
helped our community wearing many
different hats as a volunteer: Planning
Board, Sewer Authority, 4 th of July
Parade, Borough Historian.
As Chairman of the Shade Tree
Committee,
the
Environmental
Commission
and
the
Historical
Committee, he has shared his expertise
with The Lebanon Lantern, and by doing
so, he has shared with the community
valuable information and pictures.
An old tool collector, Joe is a Past
President
of
the
“Collectors
of Rare and Familiar Tools Society” (CRAFTS of New Jersey).
A few years ago, Joe was chosen to be the Grand Marshall of the 4th of July Parade. The Parade was ready to start,
but where was Joe? Doing what he has always done…he was down on Main Street by Stewart’s Root Beer
performing his usual task of lining up the participants of the parade. The Borough was lucky when he decided to
move here in 1975 from Queens, and we have had decades of his service to our community.
