In February, the Australian Government
passed new laws paving the way for the use of
medicinal cannabis by people with painful
and chronic illness. ‘This is something I'm passionate about
because it has changed my life in so many
ways. My experience with cannabis has
inspired me to help others as a future career.
But there are severe restrictions on who is
eligible to use it - and in what form it can be
used. ‘I'm tired of living in fear along with millions
of others. Coltyn Turner, a young American
man living with Crohn's disease once said "I
would rather be illegally healed than legally
dead".
This week, during a parliamentary debate, one
Liberal Democrat senator said the Turnbull
Government had 'blood on its hands' for not
making access easier for terminally ill
patients.
‘I can't begin to describe what it feels like to
have some hope and it being snatched away
because this country can't get itself together,’
Morgan said.
‘It's time for a change and that time is now.’

My worst fear has been realised. My parents' home was raided by NSW police who came and
took all my medicine.
All that hard work gone, ripped out of
the ground.
We will no longer sit in silence and
watch these injustices go on.
We are going to fight. Fight for the
people scared of having their medicine
taken away, the people scared of having
their children taken away all because
they have no options left and use a plant
for medicine.
My father is now a CRIMINAL
because he would do anything to help
his daughters.

My sister and I have been relying on medical cannabis because we suffer from severe forms of
Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. We've both been in and out of hospital the past few years
to undergo surgeries. Both of us have had to use colostomy bags.
We've used multiple pharmaceutical medications that come with serious side effects and were
effectively useless to treat our health problems. Cannabis improved our lives and helped to relieve
the pain and nausea that's part of these debilitating diseases.
