10 things to do
in the summer
holidays
Our First Year at
The Kimberley School
Before we started here we were
all very nervous and didn’t know
what to expect; we thought we
would get lost and ‘the big kids’
would be mean, but it is the total
opposite! On our first day, everybody was so welcoming and
helped us around the school.
You get to meet new people
and become the best of friends;
it is a wonderful feeling and is
a new chapter in our book of
life. All the teachers are helpful
and push you to the best of your
abilities. You will feel comfortable
and, if you’re feeling down,
there is always somewhere to
go and someone to help you.
There are lots of opportunities to try something new in all
subjects and discover a side to
you, you never knew existed.

Anti-Bullying Update
As your Student Voice, we
have been working hard to fix
the problem of bullying in The
Kimberley School. So far, we
have done surveys which you
can find here:
www.surveymonkey.com/
s/L6S3HVD
We have also done assemblies
to tell everyone what we have
been doing to help people here.
We are concentrating on posters
to put around the school so
we can get the anti-bullying
message out to everyone.
There is an email that covers
bullying so, if you need help,
email here anonymously:
antibullying@
kimberleyschool.co.uk
We hope that we can help you
out the best we can and get the
job done.

Sports Day
As a collective Student Voice,
we have been eagerly anticipating this year’s Sports Day.
We reported live on the event
using the following account
@TheKimberleySV. Give us a
follow for the latest updates on
all the big stories of the day…..
including the staff relay!
Changes to our campus
During the recent holidays, we
have made two quite noticeable
changes to our school. These
are that the bins now have numbers, and the fence at the front
of lower school has moved to
hug the block a bit more.
The reason for the
bins having numbers,
is so that when they
are full, the midday
supervisors can give
the number to the site
staff, who can then empty them.
Regarding the fence, they have
been changed near Lower
School to provide safety of the
school due to the Kimberley
Leisure Centre using the car
park after school hours.
1. Learn to play the ukulele – it’s
nice and easy to learn to play
your favourite songs. This may
be an opportunity to listen to
some new music!
2. Watch a new film or TV series on
demand.
3. Have a barbecue or campfire
with friends - Get outside whilst
you can!
4. Go to a festival – V festival and
Splendour are a few on this
summer.
5. Go geocaching and explore your
local area.
6. Visit the seaside and build a
sandcastle.
7. Go for a bike ride with family or
make a new friend!
8. Go on an adventure.
9. Read a book.
10. Prepare yourself for returning
to school!
