Re-Election
We are happy to say that the rain held off and from a
student’s point of view it seemed that everyone had a
really good time taking part and watching the events.
We felt that the behaviour of the students was really
good as well. There will be interviews with some of the
winners in our next NewsCast.
This year’s council members have been invited to
submit a proposal for re-election for next year. Any
successful candidates will act as part of the Student
Voice in partnership with next year’s candidates who
will be elected in September. In order to justify their
positions, members were asked to list what they had
done to benefit the school and how being part of the
student council had benefitted them over the past year. Are you the sort of person who can:

and reporting on the Kimberley School Sports Day. As starting, the Year 8s had an Enrichment Day. All lessons

interesting things like eggs came in powdered form due
to everything being rationed.
In P.E, the year eight students had a taste of what
it was like to do an army drill, they had to follow
commands and prepare for a ‘fight’. Some of the years
said it was good but quite hard to keep going when
you’re tired and that it must have been very harsh for
any soldiers in the First World War.
Other subjects involved were Science, IT, Modern
Languages, Maths, DTs and Arts. There is going to be
a follow up session where the Year 8 s will create a
memorial plaque.
