Swimming Success Again!
The Kimberley School once again dominated the Broxtowe Schools Swimming Championships. This year the
school assembled 2 teams and both teams produced quality performances to make the gala into a 2 horse race.
In the end, the Dolphins (126pts) edge the Sharks (119pts) into 2nd place with a large distance back to the 3rd
placed Chilwell (89pts). Between the 2 Kimberley teams, the school won 23 of the 31 races.

Overall, the school finished in 1st Place against some tough competition. It was a great turn out as the team had
a range of students from every year (7-13) competing for the school. The swimmers and the staff on poolside
would like to thank all the supporters for cheering us on. We will look forward to defending our title next year.

Broxtowe Inclusive Sports Events
On Thursday 16th January, we hosted the Broxtowe Multi
sports Inclusive competition. The sports played were curling,
dodgeball, basketball and table tennis. Schools brought a team
of 8 girls and 8 boys. Whilst Chilwell played well, Kimberley
managed to come out victorious to take first place and will
now represent Broxtowe on 26th February at the Nottinghamshire Winter Games held at the University. Well played.
On Wednesday 21st January, Kimberley hosted 12 Junior
schools for the Broxtowe Primary Inclusive Festival. Schools
attended from around the area and enjoyed trying a variety
of sports such as boccia, goal ball, skittles as well as visiting
the Vibe gym. The leaders came from Years 7, 8 and 12 and,
although many had not had leadership experience before, they
did a super job and all involved enjoyed the day. A great effort
by all and good commitment from the leaders beforehand
to practicing and organising the day to help make it such
a success.

lost one, finishing as joint winners. The boys
involved were Joseph Kingsland, Alex Cooke,
Will Moore, Jahdel Walters, Akash Dewshi and
Kian Brill. They showed great teamwork, were
motivated throughout and were a credit to the
school.
The year seven girls team beat George Spencer School in the Broxtowe Basketball Tournament on Wednesday 21st January. They fought
to the end and after a close finish, they emerged
victorious as 12-10 winners.
