Sixth Form News
UCAS
The UCAS process of applying to
university is well under way and
we are delighted that so many of
our students are receiving superb
offers from a range of universities
and courses. We have had students
on interview this week for Speech
and Language courses as well as
for places on teaching courses. Over
the next couple of weeks, we have a
student with an interview to study
History at Cambridge University as
well as someone on interview for a
place to study Medicine at Sheffield
University. We wish all students
applying the very best of luck.
Apprenticeships
Apprenticeship applications will start
after Christmas and in preparation for
this we have had a number of outside
speakers in to school to talk with Year
13s about the possibilities available
to them. This week, our careers
provider, Ideas for Careers, brought
two higher level apprentices in to
school to talk with Year 13s who are
thinking of this route for their future.
Other Visitors to the
Sixth Form
In order to help prepare Year 13s for
university life, we have had two visits
from The University of Nottingham.
On the most recent visit a number of
student ambassadors came in to talk
about accommodation at university.
We have continued to work with the
Nottinghamshire Road Safety team
this term and they have come in to
work with each Year 13 tutor group
on issues surrounding safe driving.
We were also fortunate to have
the theatre group, ‘Braking Point’, Sixth Form Applications
