We are delighted that this year’s
winning book is Wild Boy by
Rob Lloyd Jones and the runner
up is The Last Wild by Piers
Torday. Students who have read
these books, recently met both of
these authors. On Wednesday 4
February, The Kimberley School
LRC
Reading and Writing Club (RAW Club) also
runs at the same time and in the same place;
all KS3 students are welcome.
hosted an author visit by Rob Lloyd
Jones. 25 KS3 students listened to
him, along with groups of students
from Ellis Guilford, Nottingham
Girls’ High School and the White
Hills Park Federation.
On Wednesday 25 February, nine
of our students met Piers Torday,
author of ‘The Lost Wild’, at Ellis
Guilford School. We all enjoyed
hearing the authors’ stories and
many students have been inspired
to write more themselves.
During the summer term, keen
readers will be shadowing the
Carnegie and Kate Greenaway
Children’s Book Awards. Check
the website for information
about the shortlisted books.
