Ashley Murphy was born HIV positive, later on when she was about 2 years old the condition had developed into aids. after that she spent the next half of a year on a resprator. When she was release from the hospital, they put Ashley into foster care. The doctors didn't think that Ashley would make it to her last nine month but she did. when she was 5 years old she only weighed 23 pounds, the doctors inserted a feeding tube into her stomach to help her eat, she was also on 6 other medications at the time. Her feeeding tube didn't come out till she was 9 years old. She had been invited to a slumber party by her friends , and the parents told the children to exclude Ashley. has travelled across Canada to speak at WE Day events. Ashley is passionate about reducing the stigma around HIV. She also helps other issues such as bullying and mental health problems. During her summer of 2014 Ashley travelled on a ME to WE trip to Kenya, she met two young girls named Naomi and Faith. They were also diagnosed with HIV. After her trip to Kenya, Ashley was inspired to raisefunds to build a school with Free the Children
