Surprisingly, another practical use this song has is quite the opposite to the previous one, since I also listen to it when I am in the best of moods and it heightens my exhilaration. I can feel this way especially in the second half of the song, when its rhythm changes and the lyrics go “Here comes the rain again falling from the stars drenched in my pain again becoming who we are”. By means of a metaphor, Billie Joe is telling us that when he remembers his father he cries, bringing all his memories back. However, he recognizes that sadness has made him grow up and become the man he is now. Don’t you think it’s an inspiring message.

So, I guess I’m not exaggerating if I say that having a best-song-ever is like having friends, because when you need them, they’ll help you and cheer you up and, when you’re happy they’ll have fun with you . My pet song is with me in difficult as well as in perfect times. You’d better choose one for yourself. You’ll never regret it!
