Joanne is Canada’s ambassador and advocate for entrepreneurs. In the roles of CEO, consultant, and board member, she works her own coveted high-tech network of decision makers and influencers to connect Canadian startups and corporations into the heart of Silicon Valley. Within the last couple of years, Joanne has worked with the Canadian Consulate of San Francisco/Palo Alto to launch an exclusive program, called Canadian Entrepreneurs in Life Science. She was also pivotal in the creation of a landing pad for Canadian founders visiting the Valley. Joanne is driven to support women in tech. She championed and co-produced TechWomen Canada, a two-day summit led by the Canadian Consulate of San Francisco/Palo Alto, that introduced next-generation business women to counterparts in the Valley.
Joanne travels regularly between the Bay Area and Canada, developing influencer relationships with government, corporate, economic development agencies, and tech leaders who could have impact on building Canada’s brand as a tech leader. As an example, Joanne recently drove the launch of the Boardlist in Canada, a curated marketplace to get more women on public and private boards, founded by a successful Canadian female entrepreneur in Silicon Valley.
