DEADLY FUNNY REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN

Heats kicking off nationally from 1 November 2017

Cheeky and loud, black and proud, Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s national comedy competition,

Deadly Funny is back to uncover the freshest, fiercest and funniest Indigenous talent from around the country.

With a story-telling culture spanning over 60,000 years, Deadly Funny is celebrating the bright and bold new talent of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander comics from all states and territories with this deadly showcase.

Now entering its 12th year, participation is free and entrants also get the opportunity to take part in workshops with professional comedians to refine their act before they hit the big stage.

The finalists will come together to compete in the Deadly Funny National Grand Final for a $2,000 cash prize as part of the 2018 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. The Deadly Funny alumni features an impressive list of names with Kevin Kropinyeri, Jalen Sutcliffe, Stephanie Tisdell, Shiralee and 2017’s winner
