Tips on release timing..

These are some helpful tips for those about to release new music. ...

Are you releasing a ballad or love song? Ideal time to release a single like that would be May, June July...just in time for the wedding season.

What about a fun, fresh, upbeat tune? Nice time to release a single like that would be in the summer season.

Next, you may have some instrumentals, maybe in the Jazz realm...and or a holiday themed tune or two, in which case, early October would be the ideal time to get that going so it makes it on the December holiday list. Also, if you have an EP or a CD that you are releasing, try to release a couple of single prior, to get the momentum going, maybe 2/6 week campaigns back to back and then you hit the media hard with a longer term campaign for the full CD release.

Perhaps, you have some great older music that really did not get enough of a push, re-release it. Don't think it's relevant for airplay, go the film and TV song placement promo route. January to June are the prime times for any releases.

Take note that during the summer holidays, many industry persons step away from their desk for vacation so it takes longer for them to screen your submissions. September is another great hit them hard month.

Hope that helps in your 2018 music release organization! .
