What’s next for Leaders of the Clubhouse?

That video release, big live shows, last promotion of this record then when that's dying down ... songwriting for next batch and continuing with good shows.

You've got to operate on a lot of different fronts: songwriting, recording, performing, promoting, social networks, getting press, getting radio airplay, trying to get songs in film & tv.

On that last front, we just signed two songs for a 2016 independent movie, which is terrific. Not quite a theme song for James Bond, but prominent song placements in a film with real movie stars.

A couple of years ago I visited San Diego and saw a live singer at Lestats which I thought was a great little listening room attached to a coffee house. If I were to revisit your town, where would you take me to listen to some great music?

I love me some Lestats!

San Diego used to hang its reputation on coffeehouse and acoustic stuff like Jason Mraz and Jewel coming out of here; whereas great rock bands from here like Delta Spirit were just playing L.A.

The Casbah is legitimately a fun venue. The Belly Up is worth going to any time a band you even half enjoy is here. There's some good jazz downtown at Croce's or Dizzy's if that's your thing.

There are plenty of other places like Winston's & 10 others I could name that get good music - but with those it's not the room that's special, just the band.

If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be and why?

I'd say bring a level of professionalism to it. Show business in general is just crazy how people can either just flake, be completely stoned, or being a "temperamental" asshole - and yet still have/get work.

"These goddam devices don't make life much better,

in fact they make it worse".
