She has all sorts of ideas and guidelines for how often to post, so I feel more empowered. I did try boosting one of my posts, which I hadn't before, and I could see that it had a lot of people reached.

Also, she helps us figure out ways for social media not to take too much time out of our schedule.

So I am in the beginning stages but I can see where this can all go and I don't feel as lost.

I think the biggest challenge for me was getting over my fear of posting to social media and lowering my standards for the content I post.

Before this course, I would only post something if I was 100% sure it was great content, and because of that, my posts were sporadic

and inconsistent. Arial said many times throughout the course,"consistency is key".

I have learned how to use social media platforms I have learned how to use social media platforms that I never used before. On many of them, I had created accounts but never engaged because I was overwhelmed and didn't understand how the platform worked. I haven't yet implemented all of Arial's strategies, but just by building a presence on Twitter, in less than a month I have gotten multiple opportunities and connected with many people, both people working in the industry and new fans.

Being that it was given to us as a gift from Ariel for her Birthday, would this be a course you would have paid for?

I don't know that I would have initially signed up for it if it had a high price. I probably would have paid under $50 for the program. But in hindsight, the benefits this program has had for my career have probably been worth more than that.

What tid-bits would you share with other artists, bands, or industry folks about this course?

Its well worth the time, but it will take a good amount of commitment from the artist (or the artist's team).

Why did you take the course?

I had heard of Arial Hyatt from many different sources, and knew she had a good reputation for creating resources to help independenmusician. I also am very new to the music scene, and knew I had to build a social media presence. I'm the type of person who loves learning, and will take help from anywhere I can get it!

The fact that it was free was a nice bonus, too.
