'Rumours' was designed as a "no filler" product, where every track could hold its own as a single.

Christine McVie's 'Songbird' – later covered by Eva Cassidy – was recorded away from the studio at the University of California's Zellerbach Auditorium, giving it its distinctive, soft distance.

In the UK, 'Rumours' gave up the No.1 spot to 'The Album' by ABBA, another band not entirely unfamiliar with slightly uncomfortable internal tension.

Christine McVie wrote Rumours’ ‘You Make Loving Fun’ about the band’s lighting director, Curry Grant. She was still technically married to John McVie at the time, but they were separated and both seeing other people.

Christine McVie wrote 'Oh Daddy' about Fleetwood, the daddy of the band. The seemingly backhanded compliment that "everything you do is just alright" is supposed to acknowledge he was always right.

I bought this album when it was first released on vinyl, and proud to say that it is still in excellent condition. I also bought it in DTS when it was remastered in 2002.

I would say, this was one of my top ten albums choice of all time!
