GET BLURRED

New Album from Victory Kicks, out 6th June 2016

Announcing the release of Get Blurred, the new LP from London based alternative rock band Victory Kicks. The new record will be in stores on June 6th preceded by the singles Precious Metal, Satellites and Fake Parade

BIOGRAPHY: Victory Kicks started life in early 2013 as a home recording project for songwriter and guitarist John Sibley. After piecing a recording studio together at home, early EP's and singles containing short, lo-fi pop songs were recorded and shared amongst friends and family.

Victory Kicks then went from solo project to band with the addition of friends from other London based acts and established its own record label with the release of its first official EP, Rockets for Ghosts in July 2013.

Comprising seven home recorded tracks of sharp, punchy alt rock, Rockets for Ghosts was a success for the band garnering favourable reviews and receiving airplay for the first time on stations in both the UK and the US. This was followed by the release of three singles, including the song Radio Saves which saw the band make its debut appearance on BBC Radio.

Taking the decision to record music at home allowed the band the flexibility to record a pretty much constant stream of material and since the release of its debut EP Victory Kicks has released 2 further EP’s and 3 full length albums, most recently 2016’s Get Blurred.

Get Blurred is the sixth record to be released by the band since its formation in 2013. It is the band’s third LP and follows on from their critically acclaimed second album ‘High Wires’. Get Blurred comprises ten songs loaded with punchy riffs and melodic hooks. Sonically diverse, the record features a distinctive cut and paste approach to production; songs are embellished with swirling layers of noise, field recordings and radio traffic rising above a foundation of driving percussion and drum machines. Get Blurred sees Victory Kicks retain its sharp pop sensibilities and commitment to home recorded rock and roll but aesthetically is new territory for the band, more varied in mood and more experimental than its predecessors.
